What is a kink ?

You may have come across this word in conversation, or on BDSM sites, whether it’s “Kink” or “Kinky”.
I’ll explain it all here.

Kink could be associated with “naughty practice”, and kinky with “naughty”.
The term kink brings together anything that’s a little sultry or has to do with eroticism or fantasy.
BDSM is sometimes classified as kinky, but not always.

What is kinky?

Kinks are generally anything that falls outside the norm of conventional sex or simple vaginal penetration.
But also sex outside the bedroom, in unusual places,…
Lingerie and outfits can also be kinky.
New positions too.
All in all, anything that titillates, delights or arouses is kinky.
Some kinks are very classic, others less so.

What’s the difference between kink and BDSM?

Kink has a certain sense of sexual arousal, which is not necessarily the case with BDSM.
BDSM also brings together different aspects – Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, Masochism, Domination, Submission – which are not necessarily present in kinks.

Certain practices can also fall distinctly into both categories, depending on the individual.
For example, pegging can be a kink linked to anal penetration for the pleasure of prostate stimulation.
Or in BDSM be linked to a desire to submit and be used.
The meaning will not be the same, because the search and the experience will be different.

What’s the difference between kink and fetishism?

Fetishism is more focused on a particular object of desire, which may or may not provoke a strong sexual desire.
Kink, on the other hand, focuses on a wider spectrum, provoking less desire.
As with BDSM, depending on the individual, a practice or object can be kink or fetish.
